Introduction
This page aims to go over proper usage of grammar, links, templates, and article content. This page also aims to help explain how pages should be formatted and written.
Note that this guide assumes you are using the source editor. If you are using visual editor, it may be harder to follow some sections.
For basic information regarding editing a Fandom Wiki, refer to Help:Editing.
General
- Refer to Article Formatting guidelines if in doubt.
- Use correct grammar (e.g. using "an Exclusive pet" instead of "a Exclusive pet").
- Words such as pet, biome, huge, and hoverboard should not be capitalized unless they are used at the beginning of a sentence or if they are used as part of a name (e.g. Balloon Hoverboard).
- In general, capital letters should only be used:
- At the beginning of a new sentence.
- For names and titles.
- For days of the week, or months of the year.
- For holidays (e.g. Halloween and Christmas).
- For abbreviations/acronyms.
- When using the names of people, places, or locations.
- In general, capital letters should only be used:
- Words such as "re-skin" and "in-game" should have a dash.
- All in-game content should indicate what game the content is part of within the title of the page in brackets (e.g. Cat (Pet Simulator 99)), unless the page is a disambiguation page intended to group pages with similar titles under one page (e.g. Cat).
- Avoid using redlinks (links to a page or file that doesn't exist), and if a page has any, remove the link or complete the link in question.
- Dates on pages should be written in full, starting with the month. An example of this is January 1st, 1970.
- Timezones should be listed in Canadian Standard Time (CST).
- If links are repeated, only the first instance of the link being mentioned needs to have a link. Further mentions may use plain text.
- Edits should always aim to expand or improve a topic. Information shouldn't be removed unless it is factually wrong or unnecessary.
- Edits will always be reviewed. If an edit proves to be lacking, unnecessary, or malicious, it will be reverted.
- Links to external sources (except roblox.com, authorized developer social media for sources of information, and authorized shopping websites for merch items, such as shop.biggames.io) should not be used in articles.
Pages
- General wiki notice templates such as Stub and Delete should be at the top of the page above all other content, if required.
- Information on articles should be factual and unbiased. This wiki is not for opinions or theories - those belong in the comment sections of articles, or in discussions.
- Articles must be written in third-person (words like "you" should not be used).
- Do not create pages regarding unreleased/leaked content. Please wait until such content is officially released.
- Pages regarding merch pets slowly rolling out onto shelves can be created when at least 10 copies of the pet exist in game.
- General wikitext should not have excessive usage of bold, italics, underlines, or have icons or emojis.
- Using existing pages and their templates as frameworks of reference when creating new pages is encouraged.
- Names, descriptions, and quotes should be spelt as they would appear in the game, including typos and grammar errors. Errors should be marked with Sic (which appears on pages as (sic)).
- Trivial information, if any, should be incorporated at the bottom of all main article information under a ==Trivia== heading.
Files
- All files uploaded to the wiki should be related to the Pet Simulator series.
- Please do not upload memes/edits, personal screenshots from your game that aren't intended to be displayed in an article, fanart, or any pictures meant only to decorate one's user page, as these will be removed.
- All of the above images are allowed indiscussions posts under correct categories.
- File names should match the image. Names such as "Download.jpg" or "hudefbvgrcdwfin.png" do not describe a file and will make it hard to find.
- Images uploaded to the wiki should be of high quality.
- Ensure the file being uploaded doesn't already exist. If you find or upload a duplicate file by mistake, you can mark one for deletion using the Delete template or contact a staff member to get it deleted.
- "Placeholder.png" may be used as a placeholder image.
- For Pet Simulator 99 files, please name the files under the "<Game> <Collection> - <Displayname>.png" naming convention.
- To download images using the above API endpoints, one possibility involves the following:
- Install BTRoblox (Chrome or Firefox).
- Look for any items that currently do not have pictures on the wiki (often this will be for newer items).
- Copy the numerical assetid (e.g. for rbxassetid://134064160006487, only copy 134064160006487).
- Open https://www.roblox.com/library/[assetid] (the above ID will be https://www.roblox.com/library/134064160006487).
- Click on the download icon towards the top right of the item (it will look like an arrow pointing towards a rectangle).
- Upload the file to the wiki under a renamed file (above example would be PS99 Charms - Treasure Charm).
- While uploading the image, the right license should be selected under More Options (Fair use: This will be used in a way that qualifies as fair use under US law).
- Another possibility:
- Use the BIG Games Discord bot (only works for Pet Simulator 99 and doesn't include Golden icons of pets).
- Type the category of the item as a slash command. An example may be /pets.
- A suggestion list will appear. If you know the name of the item, type its name.
- Once the bot sends a message containing information about your desired item, click on the image and then "Open in Browser" at the bottom left.
- Save the file following the wiki naming conventions.
- While uploading the image, the right license should be selected under More Options (Fair use: This will be used in a way that qualifies as fair use under US law).
Pet Pages
This will vary slightly between each game in the series, but this guide will go over Pet Simulator 99 pages.
Templates
On the first line of the editor, if applicable, navigational templates linking a pet between different games in the series should be used. These will include:
- PSX - This will link a page to its Pet Simulator X version (used on Pet Simulator 99 pages).
- PS99 - This will link a page to its Pet Simulator 99 version (used on Pet Simulator X pages).
- PSO - If a page's topic is mentioned in more than 2 games in the Pet Simulator series, this template is used.
If applicable, a template indicating the pet's availability is also used. Limited will generally be used first to indicate content that is obtainable at the time of writing that will soon be removed. Other templates include:
- TransferredPet - For Pet Simulator 99 pet pages where the pet can be transferred from Pet Simulator X.
- RemovedNotice - Never used on pet pages as this indicates content has been deleted from the game rather than made unobtainable.
- ClanBattleRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was from a clan battle that has ended.
- ChestRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was from a chest that required a key to open, but is now no longer a possible drop.
- CodeRemovedPetOnlyTrading - For pets where the code can no longer be purchased from shop.biggames.io.
- PSXCodeRemovedPetOnlyTrading - Same as the above template, but for Pet Simulator X pages since the merch code redemption feature has been disabled.
- EventEggRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was obtainable from hatching eggs during a limited event.
- EventRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was obtainable from an event, but not from an egg. An example of this is the Huge Guard Bunny.
- - For Pet Simulator X pages. The pet was obtainable from an Exclusive Pets Egg before eggs were made tradable items.
- - The pet was obtainable from an Exclusive Egg that is no longer on-sale.
- - For Pet Simulator X pages. The pet was purchasable from the Exclusive Shop directly.
- GiftRemoved - Used on gift pages where the gift is no longer obtainable.
- GiftRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet is obtainable from a gift that can no longer be obtained.
- HMERemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was from a Huge Machine Egg that can no longer be created.
- MinigameRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was previously obtainable from a permanent minigame.
- PackRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was previously obtainable from The Forever Pack.
- PresentRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet is obtainable from Christmas presents that can no longer be obtained.
- PrizeRemovedPetOnlyTrading - The pet was rewarded as a prize after a limited event.
A pet infobox should always be included. This will vary between game, but Pet Simulator 99 pages use the Pet99 infobox. It should include:
- A "title1" value (name of the pet).
- At minimum, an "image1" value should be present, as it will display the normal image of the pet. The file used should be properly named and of good quality.
- If the pet has a golden variant, an "image2" value should also be present. However, not every pet will have a golden variant that is obtainable.
- If the pet can be evolved, an "evolved" value should also be used.
- A "rarity" value indicating the pet's rarity. Rarity templates include:
- Basic99
- Rare99
- Epic99
- Legendary99
- Mythical99
- Exotic99
- Divine99
- Superior99
- Celestial99
- Secret99
- Exclusive99
- Either "egg" or "reward" depending on how the pet is obtained. If the pet can't be obtained from an egg, reward should be used.
- If a pet can be obtained from multiple eggs, they should be listed in dotpoint format, starting from the first/cheapest egg it appears in.
- A "level" value (stats of the normal variant of the pet).
- If the pet has a golden variant, "golden" should be used as well.
- If the pet has a rainbow variant, "rainbow" should be used as well.
- The stats of all variants of a pet can be found in the Trading Terminal.
Using the infobox from Cat as an example, the infobox should be formatted as such:

Article Content
An introductory paragraph should also be included. It will generally follow the format of "The [pet name] is a/an [rarity template] pet in Pet Simulator 99. It can be (or could've been) obtained from the [egg] (with a chance, if applicable).", but not all pets will follow this format as some aren't obtainable from eggs.
- If pet chances are included, they should be displayed without gamepasses, masteries, or any boosts/enchants considered. Do not list chances for pets displayed as "??" in-game as they can't be confirmed.
Trivial information, if applicable, should be included under a ==Trivia== heading. The information should be useful, such as mentioning other size variants (huge, titanic, gargantuan) of a pet.
If a pet is included in an egg, a "==Pets included in the [egg name]==" heading should be used, listing all pets in the egg from common to rarest, and links to all other pets with proper templates. The topic page should be bold, indicating you are currently viewing that pet out of the list.
A sample list:
*Basic *Mythical *Superior *This page (1%) *Exclusive *Huge Comet Cyclops (3%)
This list would output:
- Cat (35%)
- Lemur (50%)
- Doodle Dolphin (??)
- This page (1%)
- Huge Chroma Doodle Axolotl (??)
- Huge Comet Cyclops (3%)
The PS99PetList template should be added to the bottom of the page for navigation.
Categories should always be used at the end of the page. In source editing mode, they can be added by typing and filling in the blanks per category. Some of them are necessary for the PS99PetList template to work. At minimum, categories should indicate:
- The category of item (Pet).
- The game the page is about.
- The rarity of the pet.
- The egg the pet can be obtained from, if applicable.
- Huge Pet/Titanic Pet/Gargantuan Pet if the page fits under one of those subgroups.
- The species of pet (e.g. if the pet is a re-skin of the Cat, it should go under the Cat category).
- If the pet is from a limited event, the event's category should be included.
Egg Pages
Templates
Egg pages have similar framework to pet pages. On the first line of the editor, if applicable, navigational templates linking an egg between different games in the series should be used. These will include:
- PSX - This will link a page to its Pet Simulator X version (generally used on Pet Simulator 99 pages).
- PS99 - This will link a page to its Pet Simulator 99 version (generally used on Pet Simulator X pages).
- PSO - If a page's topic is mentioned in more than 2 games in the Pet Simulator series, this template is used.
If applicable, a template indicating the egg's availability is also used.
- Limited will generally be used first to indicate content that is obtainable at the time of writing that will soon be removed.
- EventEggRemovedPetsOnlyTrading is used to indicate the egg has been removed.
An infobox should be used. Every egg, regardless of game, uses the Egg infobox. The infobox should include:
- A "title1" value (name of the egg).
- An "image1" value for the egg's image. Most eggs may not have one that is easily accessible as many egg images have to be manually recreated by wiki staff, therefore Placeholder.png can be used instead. Pet Simulator X egg pages will have an "image2" value for an image of the golden version of the egg. Pet Simulator 99 egg pages are excluded from this.
- A "number" value, indicating the order the egg is unlocked, whether it be in an event world or a permanent egg. Links to the egg before and after the egg in question should be included. Some eggs, such as the Police Egg, are excluded from this.
- A "cost" value should be filled out with a currency template, which can be applied by typing Coin 99 after a number. If the currency is not a default coin, the type of currency should be added after Coin 99 in the template (e.g. <TechPlatinum> outputs
).
Using the infobox from Spotted Egg as an example, the infobox should be formatted as such:

Article Content
An introductory paragraph should also be included. It will generally follow the format of "The [egg name] is the [number] egg in Pet Simulator 99. Hatching this egg costs [currency and amount].", but not all eggs will follow this format.
Similar to pages on individual pets, a "==Pets included in the [egg name]==" heading should be used, listing all pets in the egg from common to rarest, and links to all other pets with proper templates.
Categories should be used at the end of the page. At minimum, categories should indicate:
- The category of item (Egg).
- The game the page is about.
- The egg itself.
- The world/event the egg is from.
Other Pages
Most Pet Simulator 99 topics are grouped under one parent page, as individual items often aren't significant enough for their own pages:
- Areas
- Miscellaneous Items
- Minigames
- Booths
- Hoverboards
- Exclusive Eggs
- Charms
- Potions
- Enchants
- Ultimates
While there is no specific style that is shared accross all these pages, general editing guidelines still apply (e.g. correct file names for images, proper article structuring with an introductory paragraph describing the content, catergories that match the page's topic).
