Hardcore Mode is a game mode in Pet Simulator X that released during Update 22. It can be accessed via a purple building in The Void or by teleporting to it, and requires having 350 Mastery points.
It has the same features as the normal game mode (such as biomes, machines, eggs, banks, etc.), but a greater degree of difficulty is added to obtaining pets and coins.
Requirements[]
The requirements to enter Hardcore Mode are:
- Have 350 Mastery Points.
- Have The Void unlocked.
Hardcore Pets[]
Hardcore Pets are pets obtained from Hardcore mode. The pets from Hardcore mode are the same as the pets in Normal mode except for their signature HC★ symbol, their purplish-blue aura when equipped, and appearing slightly bigger. They also have 1.5x their normal power in Normal mode.
In Hardcore mode, pets from Normal mode receive a massive debuff to their power, as to make them virtually useless soon after you begin. Hardcore pets do not have this debuff, and so most of the difficulty from Hardcore mode comes from struggling through hatching these pets anew, and their higher costs to upgrade:
- It takes more pets and diamonds to convert Hardcore pets into golden or rainbow variants (for 100% chance, it will take 10 pets rather than 6).
- Creating a dark matter Hardcore pet will also take longer and requires more pets to shorten the production time.

In the following tables, you can find the changes between upgrading a standard pet and a hardcore pet depending on the type of machine that is going to be used.
