Fishing is a two-part minigame in Pet Simulator 99, consisting of the original Fishing in Area 27 (Pirate Tavern) and the upgraded Advanced Fishing in Area 92 (Cloud Forest).
Basic Fishing[]
In the original Fishing minigame, players use a fishing rod to click anywhere on the water to fish. When the bobber bounces, it means a fish has been caught, and the player must tap to reel it in. 
Fishing Coins are awarded for each successful catch. Players can also find items such as the Old Boot or Rainbow Swirl, and have a rare chance to obtain the Huge Poseidon Dog.
Fishing Rods[]
Fishing rods can be bought from the Fishing Merchant, Item Merchant, and Advanced Merchant. Higher-tier rods increase the chance of catching rare items and pets.

Advanced Fishing[]
Advanced Fishing takes place in Area 92 (Cloud Forest). It builds upon the standard fishing minigame by introducing Deep Pools, where players can catch Magic Shards and have a rare chance to reel in the Huge Whale Shark. Access to Deep Pools requires Level 30 in the Fishing Mastery.

- Until the Anniversary Update (Update 36), both versions of Fishing could reward the Huge Poseidon Corgi, which was replaced by the Huge Poseidon Dog.
- Deep Pools require Level 30 Fishing Mastery to access and can yield Magic Shards and the Huge Whale Shark.
